PROCESSES:
We recognize that high quality, cost-effective signage comes through the use of best-in-class manufacturing processes. We utilize these processes to produce signage that meets or exceeds Underwriters Laboratories requirements and is UL listed. Completed signage is provided with field instruction manuals and tracked with a computer driven system to monitor service history.
Key Manufacturing Processes:
CAD (Computer Aided Design)
Using state-of-the-art software for neon design and layouts, our CAD Team creates CNC files supporting other manufacturing processes.
CAM (Computer Automated Machines)
Equipped with two high-speed CNC flatbed routers tuned for a high degree of accuracy, quality parts are produced by our CAM Team.
- A 12’ x 24’ router accommodates large volume processes
- A 5’ x 10’ takes care of smaller projects
GRAPHICS
Two high-speed vinyl cutter/plotters have capabilities for the cutting of all types of vinyl and are complete with layout tables and an 80 roll laminator.
COLD CATHODE (often improperly called Neon Tubing)
Our Proprietary Cold Cathode Bending Process exceeds industry-established standards and comes equipped with 8 state-of-the-art cold cathode bending stations and 3 cold cathode-processing stations.
CABINET FABRICATION
Our Cabinet Fabrication Team consists of Certified Welders and meets all State of Wisconsin welding specifications. We are fully equipped with extrusion saws, processing equipment, a hydraulic brake press, and a shear. On-site storage of extrusions affords quick product turn-around. Moreover, all designs are engineered to meet weather demands specific to the climate of the sign’s final location.
LETTER FABRICATION
State-of-the-art CNC Letter Return Pre-Forming Equipment ensures accurate bends and uniformity of letter sets. Assembly techniques create robust letter displays in virtually any size and shape.
PAINT
Complete with full color mixing capacity, we are able to match over 10,000 colors creating a vibrant palette of sign finishes. We use modern electrostatic painting equipment to provide high quality painted finishes using Akzo Nobel Acrylic Polyurethane Coatings. Environmentally friendly processes create conditions where air emissions consistently register below limitations established by the Department of Natural Resources, EPA, and OSHA.
CRATING & FREIGHT
All signs are carefully crated into custom packaging designed to meet the National Motor Freight Carrier’s specifications. Capable of shipping via flatbed, LTL; single or large capacity loads; via shipping brokers, with 3rd party billing, and internationally, we have numerous options to meet our customer’s freight requirements.
PROACTIVITY:
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
To maintain our competitive edge, we have designed and created a Research and Development laboratory complete with climate control, energy consumption, and product aging testing. New product material testing is done in partnership with recognized producers of quality materials – including Akzo Nobel, and 3M – as well as Underwriters Laboratories.
QUALITY CONTROL
Kieffer & Co., Inc. takes great pride in the quality of the signs we produce. To this end, extensive quality control measures exist beginning with the product design and culminating in final inspection before shipping. Manufacturing employees check at each step of the sign’s production to ensure that it meets quality standards before it moves to the next stage of manufacturing. Employees are held personally accountable for conducting required quality control measures such that we can assure our customers that the sign will function as it was designed.
SAFETY
We are proud of our state-of-the-art facility and our commitment to providing a safe and healthy environment for our employees. We are an annual participant in the safety inspection program facilitated by the OSHA Consultation Program administered by the State of Wisconsin.
